世界（world）广义上来讲，就是指全部、所有、一切。一般来讲世界指的是人类赖以生存的地球。世界还代称的有天地、天下、此岸、世间、万物、世上等。世界也可解释由可感知的、不可感知的客观存在的总和以及用于描述客观存在及其相互关系的概念总和，客观存在是不以人或其他物意志转移而存在的。世界由概念世界和物质世界组成，概念世界包含所有生命对客观世界的认知以及为记录认知而存在的事物的总和。

The nature of the world has been conceptualized differently in different fields. Some conceptions see the world as unique while others talk of a "plurality of worlds". Some treat the world as one simple object while others analyze the world as a complex made up of many parts. In philosophy of mind, the world is commonly contrasted with the mind as that which is represented by the mind. Theology conceptualizes the world in relation to God, for example, as God's creation, as identical to God or as the two being interdependent. In religions, there is often a tendency to downgrade the material or sensory world in favor of a spiritual world to be sought through religious practice.
